Biosketch

Andrei-Petru Paraschiv was born on 29 June 1980 in Bacau, Romania. He joined the Foreign Legion on February 20, 2002, and today is a formative manager with many years of heterogeneous pedagogical experience in the hostile and/or medical field, as well as a background as an instructor and consultant working with several organizations.

As an educational specialist, he is involved in continuing education at the Superior School of Paramedics and Emergency Care in French-speaking Switzerland (Lausanne), as part of the Professional Master 2 at the University of Aix-Marseille, but also as a Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) / Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) instructor for Life Support France, NAEMT Belgium, NAEMT Switzerland and the National Superior School of Fire Brigade Officers. He is also a training programs engineer for Practical Emergencies Formations and a 3rd level combat casualty care and medicalization in a hostile environment (MEDICHOS) instructor for the Center for Teaching and Simulation in Operational Medicine, Val-de-Grâce School.

In his functions within the medical unit of the 1st Foreign Regiment, he ensures the follow-up of the continuous training of peri-medical and paramedical personnel (drafting and implementation of an annual training plan, according to the needs and deficiencies of the personnel as well as the verification of prior learning. At the same time, he manages a team of 17 para and peri-medical staff as the nurse in charge of the unit and provides emergency or scheduled care within the medical unit, in the field or abroad, in autonomy or in cooperation with the doctor in charge. It has also been deployed in External Operations in Ivory Coast Republic (2002) and in Afghanistan (2005, 2009).
